Suri Sree Sree Ramakrishna Vidyapith was established in 1942 by the visionary monk His Holiness Swami Satyananda Dev on the foundation of the high ideals of Swami Vivekananda and Swami Abhedananda .

Sri Thakur Satyananda Dev started this school at Suri Ramkrishna Ashram compound with only ten boys and girls on its roll. The dream-school of Sri Thakur was shifted to the newly constructed building and recognized by the state education department in 1955. Then the chief minister of West Bengal Prafulla Ch. Sen formally inaugurated the school- building. With the blessings of Sri Thakur, Swami Sureswarananda [ Suhasda] led the process of organizing the new school. Vidyapith bears the blessings as well as inspirations of Sri Thakur Satyanandadev and other spiritual personalities behind its growth over the years.

It is a Higher Secondary school affiliated to West Bengal Board of Secondary Education & West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education. About 1200 students are studying here from classes V to XII. In classes XI and XII, students can study only in Science and Humanities stream.
